New Song: Inertia

“It was a cold day, but that’s the winter in Chi-town” – those are the first words you hear when you press play on this track, Inertia. You might wonder, “why would a song start talking about how cold it is in Chicago, when the EP is called Chicago Got Me Sweatin'”? Well, friends, you can sweat even when it’s cold out here in the Go.

Simply put, are more things to sweat in Chicago than just the temperature in the summer: poverty, segregation, staggeringly low literacy rates, and more. And just like with inertia in physics, an object travelling along a certain course will continue along that course unless acted up by another object/force. Let’s all be the force to get this city off it’s path and onto a new trajectory.

Inertia is from our soon to be released EP, Chicago Got Me Sweatin’, which will be coming out next Monday, August 27, 2012 at agentsofchange.bandcamp.com, name your own price!

New Song: Decolonize Now!

The place that we currently call home, Chicago, IL, was once the home of the Potawatomi, Miami, and Illiniwek peoples (among others). Through hundreds of years of racist violence and cultural annihilation, the native people of this area were either eliminated, forcibly assimilated into ‘white’ culture or displaced.

Thus, this song is dedicated to the memory of those who have struggled to defeat colonialism, and to those who are still engaged in that struggle. Decolonize now!

From our upcoming EP, Chicago Got Me Sweatin’, out Monday, August 27, 2012 at agentsofchange.bandcamp.com, name your own price!
